OnePlus One CM 11S 38R update offers new features, several bug fixes
While OnePlus has been responsible for some questionable promotions in its effort to sell the OnePlus One, the company has done a respectable job of supporting its device with updates. The One was bumped up to Android 4.4.4 in August and will receive Android L shortly after its release. In-between those major OS updates, the OnePlus One is receiving a significant, feature-rich firmware update.
OnePlus took to its official forums today to say that the CM 11S 38R update is now rolling out to the OnePlus One. The update offers improved touchscreen responsiveness, RAW photo support, high resolution audio capabilities (24 bit, 96/192khz, flac/alac/wav with resampling) and a “new and very cool lockscreen.” The full changelog as given by OnePlus is below:
- Added method for users to report bugs directly to Cyanogen.
- Added pause button during video recording.
- Improved battery life.
- Fixed issues with camera exposure compensation stuck in ‘auto’.
- Fixed issues with ‘4G Preferred’ option not connecting to 3G data.
- Fixed issues with delay in torch activation.
- Fixed issues with unresponsive screen requiring reboot.
- Fixed issues with static in speaker when changing volume while headset plugged in.
- Fixed issues with rotation not triggering when rotated slowly.
- Fixed issues with Quiet Hours / system UI causing battery drain on last day of month.
- Fixed issues with camera not starting when LED torch is already on.
- Fixed issues with Bluetooth volume low on connection.
Overall this sounds like a spiffy update, offering plenty of tweaks for issues related to battery life and touchscreen woes as well as new features like support for RAW photos and high-res audio. The one downside is that OnePlus says that the update is “slowly” rolling out to users, so it may take a bit of time before you see it on your device.
When the CM 11S 38R update does finally arrive on your OnePlus One, be sure to give us your first impressions of it!
