OneDrive for Android updated with widget, recycle bin support

R Padla

After announcing that all Office 365 subscribers will get unlimited cloud storage in the coming months, Microsoft has more good news for avid OneDrive users. Customers will never run out of storage space again with the cloud service and it will be easier to access with the updated Android and Windows Phone apps. Surprisingly, the iOS version of the app hasn’t been updated yet.

While the Windows Phone version’s design and navigation drawer have been changed for a more direct access, the Android OneDrive app now features access and support for recycle bin. This means, deleted files can still be searched and restored. This will come handy when you’ve accidentally deleted an important file. You see, the problem with most mobile apps is that you can’t undo some actions.

The new OneDrive for Android now also supports widgets. It’s one feature that’s been available on the Windows Phone version but Microsoft was kind enough to bring it to Android this time. Pinning folders directly to your phone home screen is possible for easier access.

Having a OneDrive app on your smartphone or tablet can be very convenient because accessing both work and personal files are possible even when you're on the go.
