Motorola Nexus 6 “Shamu” Goes through CPU-Z

A rather important moment for Android fans is about to pass. Android L will soon be released and the new, rumored Motorola Nexus 6 is perhaps the hottest topic of the last few weeks. Every day brings some new information and leaks regarding the new phablet device from Google. The latest leaks from the popular benchmark application CPU-Z give us a deeper insight about hardware and software specifications of the device codenamed shamu.

The device will ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC, which features a 2.65GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. Combined with 3 GB or RAM, this SoC achieves an admirable score of 3199 points in the app’s benchmark–in other words, more than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The Nexus 6 will come with a QHD resolution screen and a massive 496 ppi density if it is indeed 6″, though the screenshot shows the dpi as 560, which would equate to a roughly 5″ device. It also features a 13 MP rear camera like the latest Moto X. There is no info about battery capacity, but there are rumors pointing to 3200mAh. Quite a decent result as for such big device.

It has been confirmed that Google will start using the Linux 3.10 Kernel introduced by company with Android Wear. We can officially say farewell to old, but still great 3.4 Kernel. The official date of release remains unknown. Google will likely launch this device stealthily as was the case with the Nexus 5. All that we can do is biting our nails waiting.
