Motorola Droid Turbo Officially Announced by Verizon
A short marriage with Google made Motorola quite the successful OEM. The subsequent Lenovo acquisition only made things better. The producer of the popular Moto X, Moto G, and of course Nexus 6 has came up with yet another device, the Motorola Droid Turbo–and it’s definitely an eye-catcher.
The Motorola Droid Turbo gets some of its best parts from the new Moto X. It features a 5.2” screen with a high resolution Quad-HD, Super AMOLED panel. It will be powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU, backed by 3 GB of RAM and 32 gigs of internal storage. This beast will also last on a single charge for a really long time thanks to its 3,900 mAh battery, which is protected by a back featuring Kevlar or ballistic fibers. You will also be able to capture some nice shots thanks to the 21 megapixel rear camera. All in all, the device sounds quite impressive.
As expected, the new Mororola will run Android 4.4.4 out of the box, which will be updated to Android 5.0 once its released. Motorola works closely with Google, so we should expect the update pretty soon.
The phone will be available for purchase on Verizon on October 30 (two days from now). The 32 GB model will be available for $199 on contract or $25/month on Verizon EDGE. The 64 GB model will cost $249 on contract or $27/month on EDGE. Are you looking forward to the Motorola Droid Turbo?
