HTC Nexus 9 shows its backside in newly-leaked image

Last week we got our first glimpse at the Motorola Nexus 6 in the wild, and now it looks like Google’s other new Nexus has finally shown itself as well.

An image of what may be the HTC Nexus 9 has been posted by @upleaks. The image shows a squarish, HTC- and Nexus-branded tablet with a camera and in its corner. The device appears to be made of matte black plastic like the Nexus 5 and not aluminum like previous leaks suggested.

It’s been said that the HTC Nexus 9 could sport an 8.9-inch display, NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of storage. While the plastic construction may be disappointing to anyone that loves metal mobile hardware, the Nexus 5 felt nice in the hand, and so the Nexus 9 could feel just as nice.

The Nexus 9 is expected to debut in the third quarter of 2014, so its official launch may not be far off. What do you think of HTC’s return to the Nexus program? Will you be buying the Nexus 9?
