Forums Added for the Oppo R5, Oppo N3, and Xiaomi Redmi Note

Oppo R5

Just yesterday, Oppo unveiled a pair of rather unique smartphones, the Oppo R5 and Oppo N3. The R5’s claim to fame is that it’s the world’s thinnest smartphone, whereas the N3 is the first device to feature a motorized camera swivel that lets you automatically and easily take rather high quality selfie shots. Not too long ago, Xiaomi unveiled and released the Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphone. Due to popular demand, we’ve gone ahead and added forums for the devices!

First up, we have the Oppo R5. This device, as mentioned earlier, is officially the world’s thinnest smartphone–for now. Coming in at an anorexic 4.85mm, the device is so thin that it doesn’t even have enough girth to pack a headphone jack. As such, this 155g device is an extremely niche smartphone, requiring users to use an included USB-to-3.55 headphone jack adapter (or a Bluetooth headset) to listen to their tunes. The R5 isn’t just super thin–it’s also quite stylish and feature packed. The steel bodied device comes with a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 gigs of RAM, 16 gigs of internal storage, and a 2000 mAh battery. The 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED panel comes in at 423 PPI, and it offers 13 MP front and 5 MP rear cameras.

Next up, we have the Oppo N3. This unique device builds on the previously released Oppo N1 and its unique swivel camera capabilities by now offering a motorized camera swivel. Rather than forcing users to manually move the camera themselves, the N3 is capable of moving through its 206 degrees of rotation on its own. In addition to the new camera capabilities, the 8.7mm device packs a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 gigs of RAM, 32 gigs of storage, a 3000 mAh battery, and a 5.5-inch, 1080p TFT display with 403 PPI. The single rotating camera, which is the device’s claim to fame, is a 16 MP unit with an f/2.2 lens and 4k video recording.

Finally, we have the Xiaomi Redmi Note. The Redmi Note is a 5.5″ phablet, released by Xiaomi in March 2014. It features a 5.5″ IPS LCD at 720p, and is powered by an octa-core 1.4Ghz/1.7GHz processor. It comes in two variants, one with 1 gig of RAM and 8 gigs of internal storage, the other with 2 gigs of RAM and 16 gigs of storage. Other features include a 13MP camera and large 3200mAh battery.

Are you looking forward to owning the world’s thinnest smartphone (for the time being)? Or is the first motorized rotating selfie camera more up your alley? How about the budget friendly Redmi Note phablet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and don’t forget to check out the newly created forums below!
