Amazon finally acquiesced a few weeks ago and released an Instant Video streaming app for regular Android devices. Compatibility is a little limited, but at least it exists now. To encourage customers to use it, Amazon is offering 500 Amazon Coins to anyone who streams something using the app. Free money, yay!

After installing Instant Video through the updated Amazon shopping app (yes, it's very odd), you can navigate to any video in the Instant Video library and stream it to your device. If you're not a Prime member, most of the catalog is paid, but you don't have to spend any money this time. Amazon offers the first episode of some of its original series for free to everyone (like Alpha House in the promo image). You could also watch something you already own.

The promotion runs through October 16th. After you stream your video, the coins should be in your account within 72 hours (it's basically five bucks of Amazon money). Coins can be used on any app or game in the Appstore, but they expire one year from now.

[Thanks, Todd – Amazon]
