View Comedy Central shows on Android device through new app

Ida Torres

If you’re a huge fan of old, current and new shows on Comedy Central, get ready to laugh your guts out as the cable channel now has an Android app. With hit and award-winning shows like The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, having the channel on demand on your Android device of choice will definitely cure you of boredom (as if we really can afford to be bored on our gadgets nowadays).

Comedy Central has given birth to various shows like the filthy animated hit South Park (You killed Kenny!), new addictive favourite Drunk History (where various guest celebrities talk about history while, you guessed it, drunk), girl buddy cult comedy Broad City (which some call the real “Girls” as opposed to the HBO hit), etc. Through the app, you get to watch full episodes of classics and current shows when you log on to your TV provider. But there are shows like The Daily Show, Colbert Report, South Park and @midnight where you can watch the latest episodes without a TV provider.

As a bonus for its launch, you can watch the complete series of sketch comedy Key and Peele for free, but for a limited time only. Aside from TV shows, the app also has stand-up specials, archives of old shows and original digital shorts available. Current shows will have full episodes available the following day after airing.

For now, they don’t have Chromecast support yet, but they say they are working on it by chaining their tech guy to his desk (of course). The app is available for free on the Google Play Store, but only for US residents. Comedy-lovers outside of the region will have to be content with their own cable TVs to catch Comedy Central shows.
