Motorola announces the new Moto X

This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. It’s not the Moto X+1. Or Moto X2. This is the new Motorola Moto X.

If you’ve seen the recent leaks on the new Moto X, then you know just what to expect. The 2014 Moto X looks very similar to the first generation device, but adds a little something premium in the design department. Along with the same slim bezels and smooth curved backside, you’ll now find a metal band running along the edge of device. The front of the new Moto X looks similar to the Moto E, with front facing speakers. As for customizations, the new Moto X will be available in 25 different colors along with real wood and genuine leather backs. The rest of the specs on the new Moto X look like this:

As with the original Moto X, the new Moto X comes with a ton of custom software features thrown on top of pure, stock Android. The new Moto X will adapt to what you’re doing and when you’re doing it, and respond to custom commands you can enable on the device. As you may have noticed the new Moto X will launch with KitKat, but it will be updated to to Android L. Don’t you worry.

The new Motorola Moto X will be available later this month all over the world including Asia, North America, Latin America and Europe. The on-contract price for the Moto X, which will be widely available in the US, will be $99. Off contract and unlocked, you can buy the Moto X starting at $499.
