HTC may give in, release M8_EYE with 13-megapixel Duo Camera
This is the second year in a row that HTC has stuck with Ultrapixel cameras in its flagships. This tech allows for much bigger pixels to absorb more light in low light situations, creating better photos. But it sacrifices resolution, taking photos at only 4 megapixels. Many people have complained about the low resolution and inability to crop all this time, but it finally looks like HTC may be giving in.
M8_EYE is M8 with 13MP Duo camera. It’s coming next month with Android 4.4.4 and Sense 6.0 on board. Die ultrapixels, die :) LOL

It’s rumored that HTC will be releasing a device currently called the M8_EYE, which will dump the 4-megapixel Ultrapixel sensor for a proper 13-megapixel sensor. Unlike the lower-end models in HTC’s lineup with 13-megapixel cameras, this one will retain the second Duo sensor for depth sensing and fancy features. The device will launch with Android 4.4.4 with Senseo 6 on top sometime next month.
I know that the Ultrapixel camera has gathered a lot of fans, but having the resolution to zoom and crop is preferable in my opinion. If this M8_EYE is released, it will be nice to see HTC offer both types of cameras to consumers. I’m sure many people will be happy with this boost in resolution. Details are light, so there may be even more changes to the device. Does this have you excited for HTC’s future?
