Samsung Galaxy S5 may get Android 4.4.3 update this month

If you’re rocking a carrier-unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5, you may be getting an update sometime this month. While several Nexus and Motorola device have already gotten the Android 4.4.3 update, most other manufacturers are still working on it. That includes Samsung, but according to a leaked document, the company could begin pushing the update very soon.

This update should roll out to both the Exynos and Snapdragon-based devices, so every model will get it. Sadly, this does not include carrier branded-devices in the US, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for our update. Also, the Galaxy S4 LTE-A’ 4.4.3 update has hit its final testing stage, so it should start rolling out in July. However, there is no info on the standard Galaxy S 4 models, nor on the Galaxy Note 3.

If this document is real, it’s great to see Samsung working hard to push out such an insignificant update. Since Android 4.4.3 is almost all changes you won’t notice (the only exception being the dialer and People apps, both of which Samsung has replaced with its own), don’t expect much. But it’s still a good step forward.
