[OTA Captured] Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi Now Receiving 4.4.3 Incremental Update

The-new-nexus-7

After needlessly getting our hopes up a couple of months ago and several rumors along the way, Android 4.4.3 was finally released yesterday afternoon for (most) current generation Nexus devices. However, this update came courtesy of factory images rather than an incremental OTA, so users with locked bootloaders were unable to play without wiping their /data partitions unless they had previously unlocked their bootloaders.

Now, Android 4.4.3 has finally begun rolling out to the WiFi-only Nexus 7 (2013) in the form of an incremental OTA update. And thanks to this, users with locked bootloaders can update to Android 4.4.3 without having to wipe data by performing fastboot oem unlock by entering the ADB Sideload functionality from your stock recovery and executing the command adb sideload [update file name].

The update is gradually trickling out to consumer N7 2013 WiFi devices. Naturally, this may take some time before it arrives on your device. But luckily, XDA Forum Member EthanFirst was kind enough to capture the OTA URL straight from Google’s servers for your sideloading pleasure earlier this morning.

If you’re a Nexus 7 (2013) user who hasn’t unlocked his/her bootloader and you’re looking to upgrade to 4.4.3, head over to the post above to get in on the sideloading action.
