[OTA Captured] KitKat Arrives on the LTE Variant of the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)

about

You may recall that back in the middle of April, the WiFi-only variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) P600 received its official update to Android 4.4 KitKat. Then about two weeks later, the Verizon LTE-enabled P605 variant followed suit with an update of its own. Unfortunately, however, this left out much of the world, as unbranded LTE-enabled P605 devices were still without official KitKat. But starting Thursday of last week, Samsung is now in the process of delivering the official KitKat goods to unbranded and LTE-enabled Galaxy Note 10.1 devices.

News of the update originally comes from XDA Forum Member SEX-1, who received a 607.77 MB OTA update back on Thursday of last week. This update comes in at software version P605XXUCNE2, and in addition to bringing the device up to Android 4.4.2, the update’s release notes indicate that it offers lock screen music album art, a lock screen camera shortcut, a refreshed UI, and improved stability and performance.

The update is currently making its way to unlocked P605 devices via staged OTA rollout, which appears to have started in Nordic countries. However, not ever device in every region will be in the initial wave. Luckily, XDA Senior Member Safar_Ibrahim was quick to post the NE2 update in ODIN-flashable format for your early updating pleasure.

You can learn more about the update by heading over to the update discussion thread. Once read, head over to Safar_Ibrahim’s mirror to load it manually on your P605.
