Moto X Support Page Updated With Android 4.4.2 For AT&T, Update Looks Imminent [Update: It's Live]

Update: The OTA is now live (thanks, Michael Tomy)!

update

Good grief, AT&T, you're not usually so far behind the pack. I imagine your Moto X customers, who've had to wait behind their counterparts at Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, and T-Mobile/unlocked carriers for the update to the slightly newer version of KitKat, aren't pleased. But if an updated Motorola support page is any indication, it looks like the Android 4.4.2 over-the-air update may be coming very soon.

AT&T issued a soak test, a sort of beta test for new phone firmware, yesterday. Between that and the new publicly-posted support page on Motorola's website, we could see the software update begin at just about any time. AT&T Moto X owners, you know what to do: check that Settings menu. Or just wait patiently, I suppose.

Since this is an incremental update from 4.4 to 4.4.2, don't expect many dramatic changes in the software. The only new feature mentioned on Motorola's page is support for expanded printing for Google Cloud Print and some HP printers. The rest are bug fixes, including some tweaks that should improve battery life for those who have seen poorer longevity after the initial KitKat update. Take heart in the fact that you'll be running a build of the very latest version of Android, which can't be said of very many non-Nexus devices.

If you're seeing the 4.4.2 OTA update on your AT&T Moto X, drop us a line in thesection.
