Samsung Galaxy S5 leaks suggest 2K and 1080p display options

The Unpacked 5 event will take place one week from today. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S5 during the event, and in the meantime, it seems the rumors and leaks will continue flowing. This latest round is dealing with the display, both in terms of size and resolution.

There has been a screenshot, reportedly from a Galaxy S5 that revealed the size and resolution. There has also been a Galaxy S5 listing spotted with a Dutch retailer. Interestingly, these are both telling a slightly different story. Of course, before we call either inaccurate, we do have to remember Samsung is known to release different variants based on market.

With that in mind, we should also point out nothing is official until announced direct from Samsung. That said, the screenshot comes courtesy of samsunggalaxys5abonnement.com, and is showing the Galaxy S5 as having a display size of 5.25-inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. This essentially means a ppi of 560, which also accounts for a QHD, or 2K resolution.

The second leak is by way of Dutch retailer Typhone, and picked up by the folks at SamMobile. This one points towards a Galaxy S5 with a lower resolution display. Well, lower, but still 1080p. The listing for the Galaxy S5 doesn't include anything for an image, not even a render, but does list the display as being 5.2-inches and FHD.

Otherwise, there has also been talk of the Galaxy S5 arriving with a 16 megapixel camera on the back, 3200 mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, and storage options ranging from 32GB to 128GB. The handset is also expected to have either a 64-bit Exynos processor or a Snapdragon 800 and running Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
