Put Airplane Mode on a Schedule with Peace of Mind+
With high speed mobile data available practically everywhere, it’s getting harder with each passing day to break free from the constraints of our connected lives. Over the weekend, we took a look at one potential solution to this problem in the form of an app that lets you set intervals of forced productivity. But one of the best parts of Android is choice, and as such, there are many ways to accomplish this same goal.
Originally developed for the eco-conscious Fairphone project, Peace of Mind is another option for those looking to regain control of their digital lives. And since the Fairphone project was kind enough to make the code open source, users of other devices can get in on the fun as well. XDA Forum Member mudar1488 took the opportunity to fork the project and release it for all to enjoy. rebadged as Peace of Mind+.
The application is simple. It allows its users to disconnect from the world for a predetermined time (up to three hours). During this time, your phone will go silent and disconnect from all of your online status updates, Email messages, and phone calls. However, if you need to do local work on your device, or if you just want to relax and play a game without any instructions, you are more than able to do so—just as long as it doesn’t require an Internet connection.
If you want to regain control of your online time management, make your way over to the application thread and give Peace of Mind+ a shot.
