LG G Pro 2 confirmed for February debut
It’s been nearly a year since the LG Optimus G Pro was formally introduced, and in the world of mobile, that means that it’s about time for its successor’s debut. LG tonight confirmed that that’s exactly the plan, announcing that the LG G Pro 2 will be shown off in February.
The company didn’t divulge any details about the G Pro 2′s design or hardware, but it did take the opportunity to boast that the original Optimus G, the Optimus G Pro and the G2 have all achieved domestic sales of over 1 million units. Focusing specifically on the Optimus G Pro, LG says that consumers enjoyed the phablet’s full HD display as well as the custom user interface that LG loaded onto its big handset.
Included with the Optimus G Pro’s high-end feature set is a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and because the OG Pro’s screen was apparently one of its most popular features, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a similar panel on the G Pro 2. Meanwhile, the G Pro 2′s processor will likely see an upgrade from the Snapdragon 600 chip that powers the OG Pro, and LG could opt to bump the new model up to 3GB of RAM as well. We’ll just have to wait until next month to find out for sure. Good thing that the calendar will be flipping to February in five short days.
What features would you like to see LG include in the G Pro 2?
