In an effort to break the world record for most variants of a single smartphone, Reuters reports that Samsung CEO JK Shin has confirmed they will producing a version of the Galaxy S 4 with support for LTE Advanced within the next month for Korean markets.
LTE Advanced is a faster form of the LTE we’re used to, offering up to twice the speed of current networks. Reuters uses the example of movie downloads, stating that a movie that takes 3 minutes to download on LTE would be finished in just over a minute on LTE advanced.
Shin also confirmed that these variants would be powered by Snapdragon processors, which could explain those Galaxy S 4 benchmarks with a Snapdragon 800 CPU under the hood. The Snapdragon 800 is going to be one of the fastest, if not the fastest, mobile processors ever, so combining that type of hardware with a network that’s twice as fast as traditional LTE is going to make for one fantastic phone.
