AT&T Rollover Data launching on January 25

Following AT&T’s hardware announcements yesterday, today it’s switching things up by making new rate plan news.

AT&T will launch Rollover Data on January 25, giving the feature for free to all Mobile Share Value plan customers. Once it goes live, you’ll be able to carry your unused data from one month into the next, giving you a larger data bucket if you need it.

If you do have Rollover Data, you’ll begin to tap into that reserve once you use up your regular monthly allotment. It’s also worth noting that any data that you do roll over will expire after one month or when you change your billing plan, including if you make any data amount changes. Finally, AT&T Rollover Data is shared by all lines on a Mobile Share Value plan.

AT&T’s Rollover Data comes hot on the heels of the debut of T-Mobile Data Stash, a similar offering that lets T-Mo Simple Choice customers carry over their unused megabytes. We’ve been asking for a Rollover Data-style feature for quite a while, so it’s nice to see some of the major U.S. carriers finally listening. Now we wait to see which others will follow suit.
